Aaron Oquaye was born on 4th April, 1944.
Aaron Oquaye attended the Roman Catholic Primary School and Presbyterian Middle School before proceeding to Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary (PRESEC) at Odumase-Krobo. He studied at the University of Ghana and later the University of London.
Aaron Oquaye is the Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana after he was sworn in on January, 2017. He served as a Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya from 2005 to 2013. From 2001 to 2004 he served as Ghana’s High Commissioner to India, then Minister of Energy from 2005 to 2006 and Minister of Communications from 2006 to 2009. He was appointed as the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament from 2009 to 2013.
Aaron Oquaye is a member of New Patriotic Party.
Aaron Oquaye is married to Alberta Oquaye.
