Amu Djoleto Biography


Amu Djoleto biography: Amu Djoleto is a Ghanaian writer and educator born on 22nd July, 1929.

Amu Djoleto studied at Accra Academy and St. Augustine’s College, Cape Coast before proceeding to the University of Ghana where he read English. He pursued textbook production at the Institute of Education, University of London.

Amu Djoleto worked as an editor of Ghana Teacher’s journal. He has worked for the Ministry of Education, at one point heading the Ministry of Education’s publishing programme. He is best known for his novels including The Strange Man. He contributed to the poetry anthologies Voices of Ghana (1958) and Messages (1970).
