Lalla Issoufou holds a doctorate in medicine from the Abdou Moumouni University. She received a diploma from the Paris Diderot University and a diploma in tropical medicine from the Pierre and Marie Curie University.
Lalla worked at the National Hospital in Niamey. In 2011, she became the president of the Tattali Iyali Foundation.
Lalla Malika assumed the role of First Lady on 7th April, 2011.
Lalla Issoufou is married to Mahamadou Issoufou, the Nigerien president.
