Anna Mghwira Biography: Anna Elisha Mghwira is a politician in Tanzania and the chair of the Alliance for Change and Transparency, a political party in Tanzania.

Anne Mghwira Age, Education, Politics and Personal Life

Anne Mghwira was born on 23rd January 1959 in Mungumaji, Tanzania.

Anne Mghwira studied at Nyerere Primary School for her primary education and later enrolled at Ihanja Secondary School before joining Lutheran Seminary for her advanced level of secondary education. She pursued Theology in Tumaini University and attained an LLB from the University of Dar Es Salaam. She also attained a master’s degree in law from Essex University in England.

Anne Mghwira began her political career during the TANU era, when she was part of the party’s youth league. She took a break and later returned as part of Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA). In 2015, left CHADEMA for ACT-Wazalendo, where she was appointed as the party’s national chairwoman. In 2017, she joined Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

Anne Mghwira was the only female candidate to contest for Tanzania’s presidential seat in the 2015 general elections. She was in the recent past appointed to be the Regional Commisioner of Kilimanjaro His Honorable John Pombe Magufuli, Tanzania’s President.

Anne Mghwira was married to the late Shedrack Maghwiya.

Anne Mghwira is blessed with three children Fadjhili, Peter and Elisha.
