Ayi Kwei Armah biography: Ayi Kwei Armah is a Ghanaian writer born on 28th October, 1939 in Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana.

Ayi Kwei Armah studied at Columbia University where he obtained his MFA in creative writing. He attained a degree in sociology from Harvard University.

Ayi Kwei Armah is best known for his novels including The Beautyful Ones Are Not Yet Born, Two Thousand Reasons and The Healers. Between 1967 and 1968, he was editor of Jeune Afrique magazine in Paris. He has taught at the College of National Education, Chang’ombe, Tanzania and at the National University of Lesotho. He has also taught at the University of Massachusetts and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
