Joyce Aryee biography: Joyce Aryee is a Ghanaian political figure born on 27th March, 1947.
Joyce Aryee studied at Methodist Primary School and Methodist Middle School. She later went to Achimota School and pursued a BA (Hons) at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Aryee was Minister of Information, then Minister of Education and later served as Minister of Local Government. From 1988 to 2001, she served as Minister of Democracy in the Office of the Prime Minister and from 1993 to 2001 a Member of the National Defense Council. She is the founder and Executive Director of Salt and Light Ministries. She also runs the Joyce Aryee CONSULT, which focuses in the areas of Management and Communications. She previously served as the CEO of Ghana Chamber of Mines, the first African woman to hold that title.
Aryee was given the Second Highest State Award, the Companion of the Order of the Volta in 2006. She also received the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana, Marketing Woman of the Year Award for 2007 and she is an Honorary Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineers.
Joyce Aryee was previously married to Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby.
