Koo Nimo biography: Koo Nimo is a Ghanaian folk musician, born on 3rd October, 1934.

Koo Nimo’s birth name is Kwabena Boa-Amponsem.

Koo Nimo became popular with the formation of the Addadam Agofomma ensemble. In 1998, he was employed as a Professor of Ethnomusicology at the University of Washington in Seattle, United States of Washington. He proceeded to take a similar position at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He appeared in 2007 episode of the American travel show Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations.

Koo Nimo received the Asanteman award from the Asantehene in 1991. He also received the Flagstar Award from ECRAG (Entertainment Critics and Reviewers Association of Ghana). in 1997, he received the Konkoma Award for his contribution to Ghanaian Highlife Music.
