Mohamed Ibn Chambas biography: Mohamed Ibn Chambas is a Ghanaian academic, lawyer, diplomat and political figure born on 7th December, 1950 in Ghana.
Mohamed Ibn Chambas studied at Mfantsipim School. He holds degrees in Political Science from University of Ghana, Legon and Cornell University. He has a law degree from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.
Mohamed Ibn Chambas has served as civil servant since 2006. He is currently the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel and head of UNOWAS. He previously served as the UN SRSG and Head of the Joint UN-AU Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, the Secretary-General of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States and the President of the Economic Community of West African States.
Mohamed Ibn Chambas is a member of National Democratic Congress.
