Naledi Pandor Biography: Naledi Pandor is the South African Minister of Higher Education, born on 7th December 1953 in Durban, Natal.
Naledi Pandor received most of her education in exile and matriculated at Gaborone Secondary School in Botswana. She obtained a BA in History and English at the University of Botswana in 1977 before leaving for overseas where she subsequently graduated with a MA at the University of London. Back in South Africa she was awarded a MA in Linguistics at Stellenbosch University in 1997.
Pandor was Minister of Home Affairs from 2012-2014 and also served as Minister of Education (2004–2009) in the cabinets of both Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe.
Pandor is married to Sharif Joseph Pandor.
Pandor has four children namely Fazlur, Aisha, Suraya and Haroon.
Pandor converted to Islam after she met her husband while studying in Botswana, her in-laws gave her the Islamic name of Nadia.
