William Emmanuel Abraham biography: William Emmanuel Abraham is a philosopher from Ghana.

William Emmanuel Abraham was born on 28th May, 1934.

William Emmanuel Abraham studied at the Government Boys’ School and Adisadel Secondary School in Cape Coast. He attained a BA from the University of Ghana, graduating with first class honours in philosophy. He received a B.Phil from the Oxford University and became the first African to be elected a Fellow of All Souls College.

William Emmanuel Abraham joined the Department of Philosophy at the University of Ghana and published his book, The Mind of Africa. In 1963, he was elected Vice President of the Ghana Academy of Sciences. He collaborated on Nkrumah’s work Consciencism published in 1964. In 1965, he replaced Conor Cruise as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana. he has previously held academic positions at Macalaster College and the University of California, Santa Cruz.
